As a child I can vividly remember coming home in tears about learning my two times table. My Dad calmed me down, and helped me with my homework, and I went on to to love maths and be successful. I love to support my students to enjoy maths and succeed.
Helping students to enjoy maths

" He was so happy to meet you. He came home full of enthusiasm for maths which is not like him. He would very much like to continue with you"

I have a PGCE in Secondary Maths and achieved Qualified Teacher Status teaching in secondary school. I have worked in Secondary school, Middle schools, FE College and taught maths and Statistics at University. I have helped students in Secondary school, FE College and Middle school who weren't making their predicted progress to understand maths and achieve what they are capable of. I have successfully tutored many students to achieve their desired grades at GCSE Maths and A level maths, enabling them to achieve University places to study at Oxford, studying Sciences and Law, and getting places on competitive Degree Level Apprenticeships
Maths and Mindset
Individual lessons can be perfect for each student. I analyse gaps in learning and then gradually build up the skills step by step using my extensive expertise to provide the best experience for each student. This supports understanding and progress in the topic. My students feel free to ask questions and try things in a supportive environment. I teach students how to check their work, developing a reflective approach. This means my students succeed in the classroom environment and exams too. I update parents weekly with topics covered and progress made.

I help students with their beliefs about themselves and their confidence. I give students the tools thy need to complete the maths and develop positive messages about their own abilities. This helps students approach maths confidently and improves their confidence generally.
